BOSTON IRISH FAMINE MEMORIAL
25th ANNIVERSARY EVENT


When Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 11 a.m. to Noon
What On the 25th anniversary of the Boston Irish Famine Memorial in downtown Boston, representatives of Irish organizations, immigrant groups, local officials and business groups are gathering at the memorial for music, blessings and reflection.

The Boston Irish Famine Memorial was unveiled on June 28, 1998 as part of a series of worldwide commemorations to mark the 150th anniversary of Ireland’s famines that took place between 1845-49.

This spring, restoration work was completed on the twin bronze sculptures and eight narrative plaques, along with upgrades to the grounds, fencing, benches and landscaping.
